Breech presentation
Wandsworth and Wimbledon Acupuncture and South East London Acupuncture for Breech presentation
Acupuncture for Breech Presentation:- Acupuncture used by Lin in London Acupuncture Massage Clinic in South West London- Earlsfield, Balham, Wandsworth and Wimbledon, SW11, SW12, SW17, SW18, SW19 and South East London-Brockley, Lewisham and Forest Hill. Lin will also use moxibustion for turning breech presentation. Lin, being a practising midwife knows the risk involved when turning breech in the hospital, called 'external cephalic version' (ECV), but as Lin is not using medication except acupuncture and moxibustion for turning breech and that means that it is relatively safe for the baby.
It is expected that a baby will settle into a head down position within the pelvis around the 34th to 36th week of pregnancy. This is the best position for the baby to be in a “well-flexed anterior position” where the chin of the baby is tucked towards the chest, its occiput has an anterior presentation into the pelvic outlet, and its spine is aligned outwards towards the mother’s abdomen. [Right Occipital Anterior (ROA) or left Occipital Anterior position (LOA)]. However, when the baby's buttock is within the pelvis, or buttock first in the pelvic region it is called Breach presentation, and because of the risk involved the obstetrician usually recommends Caesearean Section.
